A Countryside Wedding

In June I had the pleasure of second shooting for Ally Chadwick again. This time it was one of her best friends from University getting married…so it was an extremely special day. Ryan and Lindsay are both amazing athletes, both of them winning OCR Championships and many other titles.

They decided on having a small intimate wedding on Lindsay’s Aunts gorgeous property. With only their closest family and friends. The ceremony took place in the forest on the property in a gorgeous spot that looks like it was created just for the ceremony. The trees wrapped overhead to make an opening for their guests to sit on wooden logs while they witness the ceremony. Their vows included promises to never stop adventuring, challenging each other, enjoying time outdoors, and of course bringing their dog along for the ride. Their dog Suunto was also their adorable ring bearer. They also hand made a locking log to keep their vows and marriage license for safe keeping.

Everything about the ceremony was absolutely beautiful.

Heading into the reception I learnt that Lindsay hand made most of the pies that morning as a way to relax and enjoy herself prior to the big day. The wedding party delivered some hilarious, yet touching speeches of the couple. While their parents reminisced about their childhood and how proud they are of them.

The wedding party had planned a surprise where everyone held sparklers during Ryan and Lindsay’s first dance, and it was absolutely gorgeous. As usual, the first dances had me tearing up behind the camera. But soon enough the wedding party had me laughing with a choreographed routine of footloose which got the party started. A little later in the night there was a surprise fireworks display which made a perfect wedding even more wonderful.

I’m so happy to have joined Ally Chadwick on this one and wish Ryan, Lindsay, and Suunto all the best in the future.
