Jenny & Aaron – E-session

Jenny & Aaron – E-session

April 2017
Cherry Blossoms Engagement Shoot

I found Jenny & Aaron through Bunz Wedding Zone while asking if any couples would be up to a sunrise session to capture the Cherry Blossoms in High Park. I’ve lived in Toronto for a couple years now, and always seem to miss the Cherry Blossoms. Now thanks to one of my best friends Cecilia living close to High Park, I bugged her constantly to give me updates on how they’re blooming (Thanks a bunch, girl!) Once I found a good day off, with promising weather I posted asking for couples willing to wake up early with me. I got a lot of responses, but ended up choosing Jenny & Aaron since they had a nice little story to go along with it.

When asked about the significance of The Cherry Blossoms Jenny explained, “High Park cherry blossoms has become a tradition for us. We’ve been together for three and a bit years and going to the cherry blossoms was probably one of the first ‘romantic’ things we did together. I think the second year we went we ran into our friend’s parents there and I remember thinking, it would be nice to do this every year for the rest of my life with Aaron. I’m pretty terrible at romantic moments and Aaron is pretty into them, so for me it also feels like every year that we go back and I notice the new level of comfort/decrease of my awkwardness in those romantic moments, it’s a cool opportunity to reflect on how our relationship has deepened. Last year we went and had a picnic in pretty intense wind and rain (we were very committed to the tradition).

Jenny and Aaron met after both being asked to facilitate breakout group discussions at a lefty Jewish event in 2012. Aaron cooked lentils at a facilitator’s meeting and Jenny was wowed by his culinary prowess. With so many shared interests– progressive politics and love of lentils– their friendship inevitably blossomed into something more. After an awkward first date or two Jenny and Aaron became inseparable. They can now often be found frequenting vegan eateries and coffee shops in downtown Toronto.
