      Niagara-on-the-Lake

Daniella + Richard were the lucky winners of my Valentine’s Engagement Shoot Giveaway that I had this past February. They decided on going to Niagara-on-the-Lake to explore and take some photos, since it holds a significance to them as a couple.

I loved hearing about how they met through their jobs 7 years ago, and quickly became best friends. Soon after Richard asked Daniella out, and had a pretty rough first date. They went out for dinner and Richard had an allergic reaction to the food. But luckily the next date went much smoother.

In October of last year Richard proposed at Walt Disney World.. as Daniella explains, that didn’t go as planned either.

‘Originally we were supposed to be going on a Disney Cruise, for the first time in forever, but due to the hurricane our cruise was cancelled, literally the day before we were set to leave. I was heartbroken. I had spent so much time researching and crafting for the trip, right down to the decor we were going to display on our stateroom doors. Everything was ready and we were all packed when I got the email during dinner. I’ve never had anything cancelled on me and I can tell you it’s the worst feeling ever! I can sympathize with others who have experienced this turn of events. It took a lot of time and effort to get our hotels and flight itinerary refunded but thankfully we were able to accomplish that so we didn’t lose any money. We just had a the next ten days booked for a vacation we were no longer going on. I was inconsolable so Richard proposed we drive to Florida, he has family down there and they were available during that week. It took a lot of convincing, for both myself and my parents who were super nervous about us driving towards the hurricane but Richard assured them we’d take the necessary precautions to drive away from any trouble along the way. After almost twenty four hours in the car with each other we were thrilled to be there and I was thankful that Richard had dragged me along instead of me mopping around back home. We spent four days with his family then drove over to Disney for the next four. It was magical! All of those sad feelings were gone, I was in Disney World with my best friend and I was the happiest girl alive! ‘

In the end, everything worked out. He got to pop the question, and it happened at Disney World (which sounds like a dream!)

We had the best time adventuring around Niagara-on-the-Lake, and even incorporated some bit of Disney magic into the shoot.
