Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of weddings do you photograph?

I love all kinds of love, however you decide to celebrate it. However, the first wedding I photographed was my cousins DIY wedding in one of their parents back yard. They built almost everything, raised/grew all the food served, and even hand planted their wedding favours. I think it’s ingrained in me to love small intimate gatherings like that. That being said, I’ve had the best time shooting some huge, glamorous weddings. As long as it’s people celebrating love, I’ll be there.

What area do you cover? Do you offer elopements/destination weddings?

Yes of course! I photograph weddings mostly in Toronto. But happily serve all of southern Ontario with class and care. Anything within 50km of my home base is covered in my packages. Afterwards there is a very reasonable rate per km. If your wedding is further than 50km, please let me know while inquiring about your wedding. I will be happy to give you an accurate quote. I am also happy to photograph anywhere in Ontario, Canada, or destination weddings. Special rates and packages are available for anywhere on my bucket list (click here) Otherwise packages will include travel expenses!

How much coverage does a package include?

It all depends on what you’re comfortable with. I love to capture a detail of every moment of the day. Which means I love to be there for the getting ready portion of the day. When the couple gets to spend some time with their moms, dads, siblings, cousins, and closest friends. Whoever they’ve decided to invite to get ready with them. And I can stay all the way up until the party starts. The being said, most couples like the photographer to leave 30-45 minutes into the dancing, as that’s when the liquor starts flowing, and people don’t want to be photographed anymore haha.

I have four hourly packages starting with six hours, eight hours, ten hours, and twelve hours. I am always happy to work with a couple that needs more or less coverage and can easily provide a fair quote.

What is a second shooter, and why do we need them?

A second shooter is another photographer that I personally trust to come alongside me to capture your wedding. They will be every where I can’t be, so we can make sure to get every important detail. For example, while I’m doing family portraits, they will be taking candids during cocktail hour. I highly suggest a second shooter. It means more coverage and more photos. It also makes it easier for me to dedicate my time during pre-ceremony rituals since the girls and guys get ready in different locations. You don’t need a second shooter, but I highly recommend them for larger weddings. I do offer solo coverage for more intimate weddings.

What about a first look?

If this is what you feel comfortable with I highly encourage it! I love photographing first looks from afar. It makes for really precious memories.  It also helps keeps the day less stressful and gives you a few moments together privately and enjoy yourselves. It can also help (depending on the timeline of your day) to get all of your wedding party photos done before the ceremony. This leaves time to just enjoy the ceremony, and worry about family photos afterwards.

What can we expect as a final package and do you offer prints?

In your final package you will receive a USB with high resolution Jpegs (great for any prints), a online (password protected) gallery that will be yours to share for 10 years! The gallery is super easy to use, make favourites, downloads, and add prints to your cart. This gallery also allows you to download an app onto your phone! And maybe even some goodies mailed to you…you’ll have to wait and see!

Are engagement shoots recommended?

Yes 100% yes! Firstly, it gives us a chance to get to know each other before your wedding. Secondly, it gives you a chance to be comfortable in front of a camera (it’s not that scary, I promise). Lastly, it gives you photos to remember the blissful and happy time you spent during your engagement. It also provides you with photos for a wedding site, save the date cards, or photos to put by your guestbook on your wedding day. Engagement shoots are included in my packages. But you can opt out if don’t think its for you!

What do your packages start at?

The packages I offer start at $2,400.  The price can differ depending on the hourly coverage and if you want to add a second shooter (definitely!) or any add-ons for after receiving the photos.

Can we get the raw images as well as edited ones?

This is gonna sound harsh, but the answer is no. Imagine asking a photographer just for their negatives 20 years ago. You wouldn’t, and I don’t mean that in a rude way. You are hiring a photographer to get the finished product, in their unique style. Part of the process of creating a beautiful photograph is the post editing work. You will receive lovely, high quality, edited photos of your big day.

When will we get our images?

Your photos will be delivered to you within 4-8 weeks after your wedding! You will receive a sneak peek with a few photos being sent to you within the week of your wedding. If the season is especially busy near your wedding it will be stated in the contract that your photos may be delivered later than the 4-8 week time period.

What is we have special requests, photo ideas, or concerns?

I personally love to meet with any couple before confirming the shoot/wedding. It’s great to have a chance to discuss any ideas, concerns, and go over the timeline of the wedding. It also helps me learn about you two so I can become familiar with your personalities. I highly recommend grabbing a coffee and getting to know each other (skype is also a possibility).

Do you do cultural weddings? Jewish, Indian, etc?

Of course! I’ve been to and photographed many weddings of other faiths, lifestyles, and everything else under the sun. I absolutely love learning about other people’s cultures, religions, and traditions. I think it’s beautiful to see all the ways people celebrate love.

Wedding photographers specialize in weddings. If you’re concerned about certain aspects of your wedding due to religious or cultural traditions it can be discussed in our first meeting.
